I love chocolate and I love travel and I believe if either of these is not possible, then life is not worth living.

Hello everyone, my name is Cindy Naidoo and I am an addict….addicted to discovering new places, meeting interesting people and always learning something new. Although the world is my oyster, I have already found my pearl, my heart will always be here in my beautiful South Africa. I love travelling to new and distant lands but Africa is my home and she’s where I return to at the end of my wanderings. I am a smiler by nature, an educator by profession and a traveller by choice.

But above all this I love my family and getting these loves together has been my greatest achievement. My family and I now share the same addiction – our love for travel!

I’ve been a single mom for the past 15 years and throughout this time always dreamed of travelling the world. As my daughters got older, I was not sure whether they would share the same dream as me and this was bugging me, so in 2009, I decided I was going to find out once and for all! I gathered up all our savings and planned a month long trip to Europe for me and the girls who were then 13 and 16 years old.

First we had the big talk, then after a lot of planning we were finally off on our big adventure. Jazelle, the younger one didn’t seem too happy. She had never been out of the country before and I think fear of the unknown had gripped her especially since we were going to be away for an entire 32 days.

Everything was fine, until we were in transit at Dubai airport, where she just broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. The only thing she could say over and over again was that she wanted to go home. After much hugs, kisses and reassurances from Krissy and me, she eventually managed to calm down and this was the start of the Incredible Travel Adventures of Cindy and her Powderpuff girls!
A little about the girls: Kriselda is 21, an extrovert and currently studying for degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Education simultaneously. She also bakes novelty cakes and designs and sews beautiful clothes. She loves animals and rescues and brings home at lot of strays especially cats. She hates writing so you won’t hear directly from her in our blogs.
Jazelle: the baby of the bunch is 18, extremely introverted and currently studying B Comm Accounting. She shares my passion for writing and loves food. She is always trying new foods and only eats the local cuisine in which ever place we visit.

We started blogging in 2009 during our Eurotrip, to keep family and friends updated on our journey, but stopped after that trip. We have now decided that we not only want to share our amazing travel stories with the world, but we also want to inspire all single parents that YOU TOO CAN DO IT, that there IS life after divorce, that travelling alone with your kids can be fun, strengthens the family bond and teaches both the parent and the kids lessons that can never be learnt from any book.

So please join us on our epic journeys of discovering new and beautiful places, meeting strange and interesting people and growing together as a family.

XOXO

Ah yes importing it from another site may be tricky. Word Press has a help section. They may have instructions how. Then there is always google 😉 Aren’t we spoiled now days? Not sure how to do something? Then ” just ‘google’ it ” has become an answer to everything.

      Hi Granny
Nice to meet you. I love reading your stories about you, your dog and your beach. I found you on someone else’s site that we are both following. I can’t remember who it is now. You commented on a post. I was drawn to your name. I love reading the musings of older people. They seem to have a better grip on life and explaining it.Thank you for following me. Warm regards Cindy

Enjoy your travels, I see my pommepal has put a like on this page.
She is my partner she has the same urge to travel.
If you visited her blog I am sure you would like it.
We were living in New Zealand 1980 and she went to England to visit her mother.
No problem when she went via China, Mongolia and Russia.
The problem was when she got a well paying job and wanted to stay to earn enough to finance a trip to tour the USA with me.
I went to England then did the USA with her.
I have been following ever since not sure if I am hooked on travel or Pauline.

Hi Cindy, thank you for visiting and following my blog. You have a beautiful family. I have some family members staying in South Africa (they’ve been there before but this is going to be a longer stint).

As a single mom I give you kudos for all you’ve done and are doing for your daughters. My single parenthood journey like many others was full of trials that I thought I’d never get through but here I am on the other side and hearing my kids tell me how they admire and respect my strength has been such a wonderful gift. We all think we could have done a better job raising our kids and it’s so rewarding when they acknowledge their appreciation for everything you’ve done for them.

I wasn’t much of a traveler by choice (it was almost always for work) but I love seeing the world through other’s eyes and I look forward to your posts. 🙂

Hello from Türkiye… just wanted to say “thank you”, I appreciate your recent ‘follow’, knowing how many interesting and entertaining blogs there are out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day-to-day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.

You are more than welcome to have a look around, stay a while and have a trawl through my collection. There are plenty of categories within the drop-down menus to help in said digging process.

Hope you have a great day…
